The Whole World

The Whole World

24×30″, oil on canvas, (1959-2016)

My mother saved a drawing I did from a time I don’t clearly remember, but I have kept it all this time. Two years ago, I started making it into a painting; keeping as true as I could to the original, while fleshing out the details to be more realistic. There are sections where I took creative licence, but after all, I am the same David Fisher.

As you look at this, don’t worry about perspective, proportion, scale or even gravity…these didn’t matter to a 2 and a half year old. The most obvious mystery is, what the heck is “POTS”? Well, it’s STOP drawn backwards; I didn’t know how to write at that stage!
